To ensure Villa Mara took its rightful place among the neighboring grand haciendas and world-renowned wineries of the Napa Valley, R&R Design Studio used hand-carved wooden beams and built-ins, intricate stone and marble work, hand-wrought chandeliers, and comfortable, oversized seating throughout the newly built, nine-bedroom, 11-bath compound. Warmth, elegance and luxury abound with roaring fireplaces, extensive hardwoods and every upscale amenity — from the 20-guest formal dining room to the chef’s kitchen with separate baking center to the 15-seat theater. Walls of glass and furnished patios and decks welcome expansive mountain and vineyard views, and the custom pool, spa and bocce court further maximize the magical surroundings. Villa Mar was chosen as one of five houses on a 2009 home-and-garden tour.
The 2,000-square-foot master suite features a spectacular oversized steam shower, Jacuzzi tub with flat screen TV, sitting room and en-suite kitchenette.
