OVERVIEW
One of three residences of a pair of world travelers, this custom-built home perched above the Pacific Ocean needed to be a retreat in every sense of the word. Using the colors of the sea to create movement and harmony through the open footprints of both levels, R&R created a cohesive, guest-friendly vacation home, incorporating the owners’ collections of art, accessories and fishing-themed mementos throughout. Privacy issues were adeptly addressed with the strategic and beautiful use of custom-made stained-glass windows; mesmerizing views and abundant sunlight became unifying elements around which all spaces were planned.

HIGHLIGHT
R&R commissioned a renowned artist to craft the kitchen’s stained-glass porthole, which incorporates actual baby seashells from the beach below.
