Café Sogni di Dolci
St. Helena, Calif.
R&R Design Studio was brought in by Paul Kelley Architect to realize an owner′s vision of a true Italian café that would be a gathering spot for locals in the heart of beautiful, bustling St. Helena. Starting with a blank slate, R&R set about making the dream come true — from evoking a quintessentially European environment to ensuring the retail and service spaces fulfill their profit potential. Retail and dining areas were carefully planned to showcase European delicacies and products — and support the merchandising and sales plan of the business. R&R employed a careful balance of traditional, classic customer-facing finishes, including white Carrera marble, dark woods and chrome accents, with more functional CaeserStone prep surfaces and expansive glass cases for the mouthwatering gelato, panini and coffee drinks.
Original photos of Italy from the owner′s own collection were framed and displayed on the long walls, further enhancing the European atmosphere, as well as inviting customers to explore the entire space.
